Twenty-nine contenders visited Weston Sailing Club over the weekend of 23rd and 24th September and enjoyed the best racing of the season in a steady 3-4 with glorious sunshine.

Mike Jarman and his race team gave the fleet three races each day with a quick turnaround between races.

All the races were held in solid trapezing conditions with some good downwind sailing in the waves.

Matt Aston from Datchet dominated racing on the first day with 3 bullets, with Simon Mussell being the best of the rest with a 3,3,2 scoreline.

After the curry and skittles evening on the Saturday night, most were thirsting for more good racing on the Sunday, following a season of disappointing weather.

Aston didn’t have it all his own way as Gary Langdown and Stuart Jones both notched up race wins amongst some extremely tight and competitive racing.

However, going into the last race no-one could catch Aston once Mussell, who had finished 2nd on the water in race 5, found out he was OCS.

The last race 2nd place for Jones behind Aston confirmed Jones as 2nd overall with a miserable day for Mussell completed posting another OCS, this time joined by Langdown, after they were 3rd and 4th respectively on the water.
