2/CHAIRMANS REPORT

Season started well with a good response at the Dinghy Show. Thanks to all that helped to run the show was iterated.
Bernard Shapley wishes to stand down as the “resident” set up and break down man and next year will be his last. Volunteers to take over from Bernard requested no one came forward.
Shortage of second hand boats raised again no real solution offered.
Training was hailed a success and interest in a similar event next year.
E-newsletter well received and membership happy for Duncan to continue.

3/TREASURERS REPORT
Tim Holden presented the balance sheets to the floor and the accounts were accepted en bloc.

4/MEMBERSHIP SECRETARYS REPORT
New Sticker system implemented to attach to measurement certificate. All members must be paid up to race at any event national or International.

5/EVENTS COORDINATOR REPORT
Nationals date changed to September 2009 well received by membership. Other venues requested from the floor nothing given. Change to five day Nationals suggested only two members agreed so idea dropped. Winter Championship was discussed but not enough interest from the floor. Paul Ross will look into the possibility in 2009.

6/TECHNICAL REPORT
Vote for rule changes were arriving with the membership too late. Process needs speeding up to get e-mails out. Allan Mollatt wishes to stand down in 2009. A new measurer needs recruiting Allan suggested Peter Hudson to become an International measurer.

7/WEBMATERS REPORT- Not Available

8/ICA REP REPORT
Nothing offered.

9/WORLDS 2011
Subcommittee needs setting up to arrange the event and to draw in sponsorship. Volunteers requested none offered. Format suggested from floor was for a three day Nationals with a day off then into the Worlds. ICA to be approached to subsidise containers to attract more sailors.

10/PUMPING RULE
Pumping to be introduced to all events not just sea events. Gary Langdown proposed Simon Mussell seconded. Votes for 33, against 0 Proposal carried

11/TRAINING
Training was well received although some of the better sailors spoke of a need for more advanced training. Martin Frary volunteered to become an official RYA trainer if the class association wanted to put him through (pay for) the training. All agreed. Next year keep training format the same but consider more advanced weekends as well.

12/TRAVELLERS TROPHY
Format change explained to the floor no questions.

13/FUTURE NATIONALS
David Gough named as Nationals Coordinator outside of the committee. He will be arranging the 2009 Nationals at Highcliffe. Costs are on the rise but the floor accepted this as a norm for everywhere.  Having the Nationals in the summer holidays was mentioned Events Coordinator to investigate costs involved.

14/CONTAINER TO CANADA
Tony White was organising and as it stands five UK boats were going to Canada. Offer to others to join them was made.
