Helensburgh Sailing Club Spring Regatta

Notice of Race
1.    Organising Club
1.1    The Regatta will be organised by Helensburgh Sailing Club.
1.2    All enquiries and/or advance entries should be addressed to H S C, P.O. Box 23, Helensburgh. G84 8WP

2.    Rules
2.1 The Regatta will be governed by the rules as defined in the Racing Rules of Sailing.

3. Eligibility and Entry
3.1 Boats shall have a valid Portsmouth Yardstick or Class Certificate as appropriate.
3.2 Entries should be made on the entry form as appropriate to the class entered. Entry Forms will be available on the HSC website or at the HSC Clubhouse from 9.00am on 12 August 2006.
3.3 Registration will take place at HSC Clubhouse from 10:00 am Saturday 12 August 2006.
3.4 The organisers reserve the right to refuse any entry and/or to ask all or any boats to complete further undertakings or declarations before accepting any entry.

4. Fees
The Entry Fees are:              Sonata and Sonar                                 £20.00
Two Handed Dinghy                           £20.00
Single Handed Dinghy                        £15.00

5. Classes
5.1 Boats will race in the following classes:

5.2 Classes and/or starts may be combined or split at the discretion of the organisers.

6. Programme of Races
3 races on Saturday 12 August 2006, first start at 13.00
3 races on Sunday 13 August 2006, first start at 11.00
Note RRS 26 is modified to three minutes.

7. Sailing Instructions
7.1 Sailing instructions will be available from H.S.C. Clubhouse at Registration on Saturday 12 August 2006.

8. Courses
8.1       Contender and Tasar classes will sail Triangle/Sausage/Triangle.
8.2    Sonata, Sonar and Asymmetric H’cap. Dinghies will sail Windward/Leeward courses.
8.3    Merlin Rocket and Handicap Dinghies   will sail Triangular courses
8.4    Results for handicap classes will be calculated using average lap times.

9. Scoring and Prizes
9.1    If 4 or more races are completed a boats series score will be the total of her race scores excluding her worst score.
9.1           Prizes will be awarded to the first 20% of the number of boats entered in each class with 4 or more entries.

10. Responsibility and Insurance
10.1 Appropriate insurance cover must be effected by all entrants while racing. The Organising club accepts no responsibility for loss of life or injury to competitors or others or for loss or damage to any vessel.
10.2 Competitors under sixteen must complete the appropriate sections on the entry form and have parent or guardian’s signature of consent on the entry form.

Notes: This section does not constitute part of the Notice of Race or the Sailing Instructions.

The racing area will be off Helensburgh Pier on the Clyde estuary up to 2 miles from the Clubhouse. Competitors should allow themselves adequate time to get to the race area.

There will be a competitors briefing at HSC on Sat 12^th August at 11.00 hrs.
