Round 6 of the TT takes us to the 'seaside' resort at Highcliffe SC. The club is blessed with possibly one of the best sailing areas in the country, Christchurch Bay near Bournemouth. Its also home to the little known (and little understood!) International Contender Sailing Coach Mr Simon Mussell and twice Nats runner up, worlds race winner and all-around top Yachter Gary Langdown who will be on hand to provide tips and floor space. The club have arranged a top celebrity PRO for the weekend. Someone who prided himself in breaking the world record for chairing a BCA AGM in less than half an hour !!
Paul Walker, now Vice Commodore of HSC, will be ensuring square startlines, speedy race turn arounds and all-around fair play - I did overhear him asking Sue (his wife) to ensure that the 'black flags' were washed and ironed in anticipation of any Contender startline naughtiness. Also, the intention is to have a 'Curry Night' at the club on Sat Eve, rather than coordinate a mass bun fight for the local Indian. This will be pre-ordered from the local takeaway before racing - some sort of 'Mussell dodgy deal' has been struck with a local Indian establishment !. Event Details Venue: Highcliffe SC.
