Notice of Race
Back down at the South coast for round 11 - Weymouth the host town and Portland harbour the racing arena !. For those who haven't visited Castle Cove sailing club since our move a few years ago, we are now located at the old sailing centre which was venue for the 1996 Contender Worlds. Parking, launching and general facilities are now much improved (no more long ramp down to the boat park!) - we even have a small sandy beach next to the club for the family. Event Details Venue: Castle Cove SC. Date: 7/8 Oct 06. Race Format: 6 races - 3 on Saturday and 3 on Sunday (5 to count) First race Sat. 1300, first race Sun. 1030. Stay on this road for several miles until you finally get to a round about. Turn right (last exit) and follow the road to another round about. Take first exit. Keep going to next roundabout - go straight across (2nd exit). As a land mark the harbour/marina should now be on your left. Follow road to next round about - go straight across (2nd exit) into Rodwell Road (Fire Station on you're left). Go on up the hill. You'll come to a mini round about - keep going straight up the hill. You will then come to a set of traffic lights - go straight across. Once you've climb a short hill the road bends to the right - Take the left turn on the corner which is Old Castle Road. Follow this road right to the end and you'll be at the club |
