Which sailmakers are popular within the class? Print
 Sails for a Contender may be bought from any loft. However with Wavelength's domination of many regattas and open meetings over the last few years, including Andrea Bonezzi recently winning the 2006 Worlds using a standard Wavelength Dacron sail, sails from the Wavelength loft are probably the most numerous within the UK fleet.
Graham Scott from Wavelength has also developed a Laminate sail design and this is now proving a promising alternative from his loft.
North Sail were popular in the early 1990s and, following a period of development with Tim Holden over the last couple of seasons, have now re-entered the market with a new radial cut sail built using the low stretch aramid Kevlar (the CM-3). This sail appears to perform well in most conditions and was used to win both the 2005 UK Nationals and Inland Championships.
